We made a point to make basically everything we dug up this week giftable. (Though much of it you could get for yourself, too.) We’ll probably be doing that for the next few issues — it’s time. And at the bottom, we have a dedicated gift list from someone with really great taste. —Katy Schneider & Simone Kitchens

Jordan Firstman told us about his favorite clothing line, Italian brand Magliano. “I went to their show in Milan and it was really genius and actually made me emotional. Been obsessed ever since. It all feels like something you would see in the ’90s in Italy on the street worn by a 60-year-old man but somehow feels very modern and chic.” These are his sneakers.

And we noticed author Mary H.K. Choi wearing an especially nice, loose-ish, cotton turtleneck. We asked her about it, and she had a lot of thoughts on the subject in general. “I’ve done so much work in this area,” she said. “My favorite is J.Crew. They’re 100 percent cotton and tissue thin (but not clingy), which I like as a base layer for transitional months. They’re nice and long too! They do the stripes every season, but they sell out quickly. Also, Uniqlo has ultrathin Heattech ones; they’re more sheer but also great for in and out of rooms and outside. The Cos ones are trash — I have had zero luck with them as a whole. And the Club Monaco wool ones get swampy if it’s hot inside but terrific for really cold.” Might we add that the stripe-y Madewell ones are also great — order one size up from your regular for a nice not-so-clingy fit.

We’ve been searching for a pair of cream cowboy boots like our pal Laura Regensdorf wore recently. She “repatriated a Dan Post pair from the Paris flea,” but we found a few pairs here and here.

Chris Black just wrote about these waterproof Vibram-soled trail shoes. “Snow tires for your feet!” he called them. “The ideal non-boot option.”

A gift list from Sarah Nsikak, founder of La Réunion Studio, who herself just launched some very giftable home goods: |

Octave seeing stone necklace: I gasped when I saw this and was heartbroken when it immediately sold out (a few styles are now available, and I hear she's working on a restock). I don't think this is meant to be an evil eye, but I love this interpretation of the charm. Someone once told me that you're meant to gift the evil eye for protection, and while I'm sure there's nothing wrong with gifting it to yourself, I can't imagine a more sanctimonious way to wish protection on a loved one.

Mano Pom necklaces: I met Gabby at an artist residency in Oaxaca and have always admired her diligence and artistic point of view — she has a very special and intricate art practice. She hand-makes these very delicate and vibrant beaded necklaces that feel like an elevated and playful approach to wearable art. |

Nia Thomas beanie: These beanies are perfect, and I don't say that lightly. It’s that intersection of comfort and warmth that we all aspire to this season — plus the necessary bonus of chic! |

Tangerine fish soap dish: This is delightful, and the kind of gift you could give to anyone, from a boss to a sibling. The simple fact is that it's impossible to be mad at a fun soap dish for the bathroom! They also have these beautiful candleholders that feel very correct for the host we know and love.

Solar-powered RainbowMaker: A gift for all ages. My almost-2-year-old is obsessed with catching the light on the walls of our apartment. Her reaction to this contraption would be nothing short of elation, and I'd be right there with her "catching" rainbows. And there's never been anything more wholesome than that.

Passerby subscription: The Passerby subscription is such a thoughtful gift. You get endless inspiration and very intimate storytelling about "passerbys" of all kinds and the rituals that revolve around a life so unlike your own. They are doing something very unifying and special in the journalism realm, and the more support for this kind of work the better.

Marfa Journal Issue 20: I've been a fan of the Marfa Journal for years, and this tenth-anniversary issue is cover-to-cover brilliance. It features many artists I admire, from Sofia Coppola to Chloë Sevigny. It's a go-to for creative minds looking for a jolt in what can feel like a stagnant season. |

Vintage pocket mirror: This is something you can thrift pretty easily or collect from antique markets. From experience, this will add an unexpected amount of ease to the life of a friend. |

Tekla down socks: I’m surprised at my own mesmerization with these, and I'm certain that this is the gift for those that understand rest in a slightly hedonistic way. |
