We rounded up a couple of nice fallish things worth buying — an unusual long-sleeve, a perfect plain light jacket, and a circa-17th-century-style cap.

First, some in-person business: Park Slope Parents is doing its annual baby-to-tweens clothing swap on September 30 at the Old Stone House in Park Slope. (You’ll have to sign up in advance; there’s a $10 fee.) And the writer (and obsessive thrifter) Christene Barberich is holding a tag sale that very same day, on the corner of State and Hicks in Brooklyn Heights, 9 a.m. to noon. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Artemide, maker of no less than three of our favorite best in class lamps, is closing out its showroom. The entire collection is 50 to 80 percent off, from October 3 to 6. We’d personally go for this clampable, swivelable architect favorite from 1989. And in New York, we’ve been meaning to check out the styling house turned vintage store Early Halloween, recommended to one of our editors by a friend with exceptionally good taste.

As we always like to say, standing lamps are impossible! Especially modern ones at not-ridiculous price points. This one is really nice for all different sorts of spaces.

Last week, we discovered who made the lamps at the cool restaurant Lingo; this week, we’ve got information on its beautiful cobalt-blue dinnerware: “We got our plates from a potter in Greenpoint called Jordan Colón,” chef Emily Yuen told us.

Danish brand Flensted makes Calder-ian mobiles that work in both baby and adult contexts and are orderable-on-Amazon. One of our editors had this one hanging in her kitchen, then moved it to her 1-year-old’s room.

These Nikes are so good, for anyone — amazingly comfortable and respectably no frills. They also look good with a dress, which we spotted on an A-train platform last week. (Well priced too — the black ones are only $60!) |

Some fairly simple fall things, because that’s where our heads are at:
1. A circa-17th-century-style, bell-shaped Monmouth cap (especially nice in navy and the ochre-y olive green and just $35) |

| 6. A red thermal. (We’ve told you about the perfect white Imogene & Willie tops, but this red one is brand-new and so very good!) |
