Editor’s note: Black Friday has officially started, so we’re no longer updating this post. For our most up-to-date coverage, check out our roundup of the all the best Black Friday deals and sign up for our email newsletter.
At this point, most Black Friday sales are already live. If you’re not sure where to begin, I’d start with the heavy hitters like Amazon and Nordstrom, where you’ll find deep discounts on tech, clothes, and toys. But tons of other retailers have launched deals, too, including clothing brands like Alex Crane and Everlane, travel brands like Away and Calpak, bedding brands like Parachute and The Company Store, and so much more.
Since there are so many deals live already, my fellow writers have done some digging to unearth their favorites in specific categories, including the best toy deals, kitchen deals, bedding deals, vacuum deals, and mattress deals. Read their roundups if you’d like to shop a particular category, or see my list below — organized alphabetically by company name — for all the very best deals.
Most of the deals I’ve found so far last until early December, so there’s no need to worry that the discounts will get better once actual Black Friday rolls around on November 29.
Update on November 28: Updated prices and checked stock for all products.
The deals I personally think are the best
I never see Naturium’s (deservedly) hyped products on sale for more than 20 or 25 percent off, but right now, they’re 35 percent off at Soko Glam. Nordstrom’s early Black Friday sale is filled with great stocking stuffers, including the $26 cashmere beanie that was a hit with Strategist readers last year. And the all-new Kindle is on sale. It has wireless charging now!
Alex Crane
The breezy apparel brand is offering 30 percent off sitewide through December 3. They make our best linen tee for both men and women, and their lightweight chore coat even earned a spot in the Strategist Menswear 100.
Alo Yoga
Alo Yoga’s entire site is 30 percent off, just in time for loungewear season. You can’t go wrong with any of its supersoft leggings or workout bras, and I even spotted a best-in-class fleece jacket in the mix.
Amazon
Amazon’s early Black Friday deals are already extensive. Some standouts: AirPods Pro at their lowest price ever, our best overall hair oil, and plenty of toys. I’ve pulled a few favorites below, but we have an even more in-depth roundup of the best early Black Friday deals at Amazon here.
Anthropologie
Most full-price things are 30 percent off, and sale items are an extra 40 percent off at checkout.
Areaware
Absolutely everything at Areaware is offering 30 percent until December 2nd, from their giftable goober candles, to their newest Blockitecture set, based on the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Aritzia
If it’s wardrobe basics you’re after, Aritzia is a good bet. Hundreds of styles are between 20 and 50 percent off (though it does seem like 20 percent off is the norm for most things).
Article
Article makes our best-in-class bed frame and dining chair, and I found those items (or very similar versions) for up to 40 percent off.
Away
The stylish luggage brand is having the best sale I’ve ever seen it offer: Through December 2, everything is 25 percent off. Away’s carry-on suitcase has been our best overall pick for years, with our experts citing durability and a forgiving warranty among its benefits.
Baggu
This is one of the only sales Baggu holds all year, so don’t sleep on it if you’ve been meaning to nab something from the brand’s new winter collection. Everything is 20 percent off at checkout, and that includes sale items, making Baggu’s stockings just $10.
Balsam Hill
Balsam Hill’s realistic-looking artificial Christmas trees are up to 50 percent off — and don’t snooze on the décor section to really spruce up your tree.
Ban.do
Everything at Ban.do (with a few exceptions) is 35 percent off with the code THEBEST through December 2. I’ve been waiting for this sale to buy some Baggus — some of the products are only 20 percent off in order to price-match the company’s sale, but there are plenty of items that are 35 percent off.
Bed Threads
Australian brand Bed Threads is offering 20 percent off sitewide, and up to 35 percent off bundles, but I also dug around and found some final-sale colors for 50 percent off. Perhaps you remember the linen sheets from Troye Sivan’s viral Architectural Digest tour? Now, they’re a bit more within reach for a non-celebrity budget.
Best Buy
The early deals at Best Buy are surprisingly good, including Beats earphones and some Samsung TVs.
Blue Apron
A meal-delivery kit service makes a surprisingly nice gift, especially for those low on time. Through December 8, the first four weeks of any subscription is half off at Blue Apron.
Brooklinen
Everything is 25 percent off and bundles are up to 50 percent off through December 4. It’s the best discount the brand offers, so if you’ve been thinking about upgrading to its super-plush towels, silky bedsheets, supportive-yet-soft pillows, or fluffy bathrobes, now is the time. (Amazon is price-matching some items, too; you’ll just need to apply the on-site coupon.)
Calpak
Calpak’s sleek suitcases, bags, and other travel accessories are up to 60 percent off. I love the Hue carry-on, which I’ve been using for over five years with minimal scratches or scrapes; and the faux-leather Kaya backpack, which is one of our favorite work bags, is an especially excellent deal at just $55.
Catbird
Catbird is offering 20 percent off almost everything (exceptions include its collaboration with Laufey and select designers) through December 2. It’s the best deal you’ll see all year, so now’s a good time to pick up some nice jewelry at a good discount. And don’t sleep on the home and beauty section, which has fun little tchotchkes like this wind-up pigeon toy.
The Citizenry
Everything at the Citizenry is up to 35 percent off through December 2. We’re fans of the brand’s stonewashed French-flax linen sheets, and the half-moon mirrors are quite lovely, too.
The Company Store
Weekly “epic deals” are up to 40 percent off, and everything else is 25 percent off with the code BFDEALS24. The Company Store makes plenty of our favorite bedding, including both our best overall down comforter and jersey sheets.
Coyuchi
All of Coyuchi’s stylish, sustainable, and Strategist-tested bedding and bath basics are 25 percent off, which is the best deal I’ve seen the brand offer. A lot of Coyuchi products are also on sale at Amazon and Nordstrom, although the discount is only 20 percent. But it might be worth it to you if you’d like faster shipping or a more forgiving return policy.
Dagne Dover
We’ve featured the reliable bags from Dagne Dover in our guide to work bags, weekenders, and backpacks. Right now, absolutely all of those favorites are 25 percent, with a further five percent off available on their kits and luggage.
Dermstore
I haven’t seen many sales at Dermstore this year, so now’s the time to get some rare deals on Strategist- and dermatologist-approved skin care, hair care, and fragrances. Just use the code JOY to take up to 30 percent off through December 2.
Dôen
If you’re willing to do some digging, there are truly excellent deals to be found at Dôen. I found swimsuits, sweaters, and sundresses for up to 70 percent off. Popular sizes go out of stock very quickly, so I wouldn’t dillydally.
DockATot
Through December 2, everything (with a few exclusions, like gift cards) is 30 percent off with the code SAVE30. We especially like the cushy cotton play mat, which is great for tummy time and lounging.
Ettitude
If you’re a sweaty sleeper, Ettitude’s bamboo bedding is your best bet. Everything is up to 40 percent off through the end of the month, including its best-in-class cooling bamboo sheets and bamboo lyocell duvet cover — both approved by home décor writer Lauren Ro.
Everlane
Everlane’s Black Friday sale usually has the best deals the brand offers, and this year is no different with discounts up to 60 percent off. I’d go for the beanie and scarf if you’re looking for gifts for others and the jeans and coats if you’re looking for gifts for yourself. For even more, Rachael Griffiths rounded up all her top picks from the Everlane Black Friday sale here.
Fly by Jing
Fly by Jing’s Sichuan spices and sauces are up to 50 percent off.
Glossier
Through December 3, nearly everything is 25 percent off, and orders over $100 are 30 percent off. (Note that the discounts will only show up once you add items to your cart.) There are a few of the brand’s products on sale at Sephora, too, but you’re more likely to get a better deal at Glossier.
Great Jones
Pretty much everything at Great Jones is on sale for up to 50 percent off through December 2. If you’re going to buy one thing, let it be our best nonstick sheet pan. I’m a fan of the brand’s cooking utensils, too — especially the silicone serving spoon. Great Jones’ eye-catching, status-y Le Creuset Dutch oven dupe is also a good bet. And one last bonus: any order over $200 comes with a free Holy Sheet!
Hanna Andersson
This is Hanna Andersson’s best sale all year. Everything is 50 percent off, so make sure you stock up on adorable all-cotton pajamas, sweaters, and more for the whole family.
Huckberry
Menswear often tends to get overlooked when it comes to Black Friday sales, but there are a lot of nice jackets, shoes, and accessories for up to 50 percent off at Huckberry.
J.Crew
Basically everything at J.Crew is up to 50 percent off, though I did see a few things for even (a little) cheaper, like Ottessa Moshfegh’s pajamas.
Keen
Everything at Keen is 25 percent off, but there are also savings of up to 50 percent across their range of hiking boots, running shoes, and slides. That means steel-toed, waterproof hiking boots for less than $100.
Kosas
Through December 2, everything at Kosas is 25 percent off, which is the best deal I’ve seen the brand offer. If you’ve been looking for a sign to try the baby-pink powder that’s going viral on TikTok, now’s your chance to get it for $9 off.
Lalo
Stylish baby-gear brand Lalo is offering up to 40 percent off through December 2. The brand’s convertible high chair is our pick for infants (and comes with a free feeding smock), and its Strategist-approved Play Tent make a perfect gift.
Lisa Says Gah
One of the sales I’m most excited about is the one going on at Lisa Says Gah, where nearly everything is 30 percent off.
Madewell
Everything (including sale items) at Madewell is 40 percent off with the code MADEBETTER. I’m pretty sure the brand will add even more items to the clearance section once actual Black Friday hits, but 40 percent off is still a better deal than normal, so this is a good time to nab items that never really go on sale for more than 30 percent off, like our best-overall work bag, the Transport tote. Also worth considering: The Harlow pant (a Strategist favorite work pant), which is just $36 right now!
Material
Material Kitchen is having an even better deal than last year: Everything is up to 40 percent off through December 4. I’m a fan of the brand’s cutting boards, and you can also find Material’s knives and cookware in several of our best-in-class guides. Plus, orders over $300 score an extra 10 percent off at checkout.
Mattresses
Like every holiday, there are excellent deals on many of our favorite mattresses. Sleep writer Amelia Jerden has rounded up the best Black Friday and Cyber Monday mattress sales here.
Merrell
Nearly everything is up to 40 percent off through Sunday night. The brand’s cult-y Encore Mocs, which designer Sandy Liang called “the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn,” are the cheapest I’ve seen them. And its hiking boots are the ones Strategist outdoors writer Jeremy Rellosa recommends “nine times out of ten” when someone asks for a hiking-boot recommendation.
Net-a-Porter
Thousands of items are up to 50 percent off at Net-a-Porter. There are some particularly good deals on both sneakers and holiday attire!
Nordstrom
Nordstrom has a lot of early Black Friday deals on gifty things, like the cashmere beanie that was a best seller with our readers last year and a trio of travel-size mascaras. Nordstrom is also price-matching other retailers’ Black Friday sales, including Great Jones and Our Place. You can find even more picks from Nordstrom’s sale here.
Organic Basics
Designed in Copenhagen and made with organic cotton, Organic Basics has plenty of wardrobe staples that we’ve tested and love. Everything is up to 60 percent off, but if it’s underwear you’re after, buy three pairs and you’ll get one pair free.
Our Place
Our Place’s colorful cookware and tableware is up to 40 percent off through December 3. The mini–Always Pan is a good option if you’re short on space. We also love the brand’s best-in-class drinking glasses, which come in eight gem-colored tones (as well as some multicolored sets if you can’t decide).
Outdoor Voices
Everything, including sale items, is 30 percent off at Outdoor Voices right now.
Parachute
This is the best deal I’ve ever seen Parachute offer: Everything is 30 percent off (including already-on-sale items). Included in the sale are their best-in-class bathrobes, duvet covers, poofy pillows, and sheets. I’ve pulled some best-sellers below, but I also rounded up all our top picks from Parachute’s Black Friday sale here.
Piglet in Bed
If it’s cottagecore bedding you’re after, you need U.K. brand Piglet in Bed. Its linen bedding comes in a huge array of colors and patterns, and right now, everything is 20 percent off. Bundles of three or more items are 30 percent off, too.
Primary
Primary makes colorful, non-gendered kids’ clothing that’s already fairly affordable, and it’s all 40 percent off with the code CYBER40. We’ve featured the brand in our guides to children’s clothing and shopping for trans kids and teens as well as the Strategist Baby Registry, but I think the grown-ups’ section is pretty nice too.
Quince
There’s up to 50 percent off the high-quality staples from Quince — but each discount is only available for 24 hours. Included in today’s reductions are silk skirts, cotton jumpers, and a slinky rib-knit maxi dress.
Reformation
Everything is 25 percent off at Reformation. Its cool-person-approved denim is a staple if you’re looking for high-waisted jeans or mom jeans, and the Matteo trench coat recently earned a spot on our best-in-class list.
Rothy’s
All of the machine-washable shoes and bags at Rothy’s are discounted through December 2. The website says the savings are “up to 30 percent off,” but I found a few styles discounted even more, including the classic mary janes for nearly 40 percent off.
Schoolhouse
This is Schoolhouse’s best sale of the year. Nearly everything is 30 percent off with the code LIGHTSON30, with just a few exceptions, like Pendleton products. I was delighted to find that new products and collaborations — including Clare V. — are part of the sale, though.
Sephora
Sephora so rarely has sales, and when it does, I’m just not very impressed. But Black Friday is the one time per year you can find some really good discounts: Hundreds of items are 30 percent off, and the rotating daily deals are 50 percent off. Writer Arielle Avila has rounded up even more of the best Black Friday deals at Sephora.
Shopbop
Use the code HOLIDAY to take 25 percent off sitewide (even on already on sale items!) through December 2. Shopbop never has discounts this deep on in-season products, so I suggest checking out the new arrivals first.
Silk & Snow
Silk & Snow is offering up to 25 percent off everything, including Strategist-approved Egyptian-cotton sheets, through December 4. Plus you’ll get 25 percent off any bed frame when you buy a mattress and 30 percent off any nightstand when you buy a bed frame.
Soko Glam
Everything, with a few select exclusions, is 35 percent off all month long. I’d suggest starting with our best hydrating toner from Olivarrier, or perhaps something from Naturium (since this is the deepest discount I’ve seen on the brand all year). We also have an entire guide to shopping the retailer here, if you need more inspiration.
Sonos
Sonos doesn’t have sales too often, so don’t dillydally on these deals. We’re big fans of Sonos’s ultrasleek speaker systems and the brand’s first headphones, which we featured in our print gift guide. (Amazon is price-matching, too, if you’d like faster delivery.)
Ssense
One of the best places to dig up designer goods is Ssense, and thankfully, its sale section is up and running for Black Friday already. Writer Lauren Ro rounded up even more picks from Ssense’s winter sale here.
State Bags
State Bags makes one of our best kids’ backpacks and the sleek toiletry bag one Strategist contributor toted to Paris. Through December 2, the brand is offering 30 percent off sitewide and 40 percent off bundles with the code BF24. Plus, all purchases include free embroidered initials. (The discount will show up at checkout.)
Sundays
The newish Canadian DTC-furniture brand is offering up to 40 percent off through December 3 (and free shipping on everything). The Japandi-esque coffee table from our best-in-class guide is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it at 30 percent off.
Sur La Table
Hundreds of items are up to 60 percent off for Sur La Table’s Black Friday sale. The best deals are on products from the brand’s in-house line, including a handsome trivet and the dishes two Strategist staffers praised in our recent guide to dinner plates. Kitchen-and-dining writer Emma Wartzman says this sale has some of the best discounts she’s seen so far, and she has even more picks in her guide to the best early Black Friday kitchen deals.
Target
Target’s Black Friday deals are officially here, and they’re quite vast — kitchen appliances, tech, kids toys, and so much more are up to 50 percent off until Saturday. Plus Target will price-match any items you buy if you find them cheaper somewhere else between now and Christmas Eve.
Tatcha
Tatcha’s best sale of the year is back: Use the code CYBER24 to take 25 percent off sitewide. I’m eyeing the dewy skin cream, a reader favorite that our beauty columnist, Rio Viera-Newton, says instantly makes skin look “plumper, brighter, and intensely nourished.”
True Botanicals
True Botanicals’ Black Friday sale is even better than last year. Everything is 30 percent off through December 2, orders over $400 are 40 percent off, and orders over $1,000 are 50 percent off. The brand’s Phyto-Retinol Sleep Serum is a favorite of Jessica Chastain, who likes that it’s cruelty free, vegan, and doesn’t leave dry patches (like traditional retinols are wont to do).
Ulta
Ulta has rolling out new deals weekly since November started. This week the deals include up to 40 percent off moisturizers, $15 shampoos and conditioners, and more.
Urban Outfitters
This is the Black Friday sale that I’ve been looking forward to all year. UO members — which is Urban Outfitters’ rewards program and is free to join with just your email address — can take 40 percent off sitewide, including already-on-sale items. A few brands are excluded, and note that Baggu items are 20 percent off (the same discount the brand is offering on its site).
Walmart
Hundreds (if not thousands) of items are up to 70 percent off at Walmart, but you’ll find the best deals in the tech section.
West Elm
There are reductions on big ticket items at West Elm, from sofas and nightstands, to this hybrid-foam mattress now a very healthy 30 percent off. I also spotted some savings on items that you won’t need the delivery person’s help with, from chunky cotton throws, to collections of glass ornaments for the tree.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
